Good Hygiene Practices

(extremely important for any business in the food industry)

Proper hygiene is essential for all restaurant workers to eliminate the spread of illness and prevent food contamination.

  • Wear a hairnet, uniform and apron while preparing or handling foods
  • Bathe and wear clean clothes everyday
  • Use good hand washing techniques: rub soap on your hands, between your fingers and up to your forearms for 20 seconds
  • Wash your hands at the following times:
  • Before and after food handling
    • After using the restroom
    • After touching your body, hair or clothing
    • After sneezing or coughing
    • After eating, drinking or smoking
    • After bussing tables
    • After taking out the garbage
    • After washing dishes or using appliances
